Attended a 60th birthday celebration here. Good size downstairs suite. Excellent food and service. Ideal venue for a medium sized party with plenty of parking in the grounds.

The staff here were lovely, went out of their way to help and were so friendly.
The menu I felt was quite small and limited and some of the rooms felt very tired and in need to a shake up.
Had to leave the shower running for 10 minutes for the water to heat up enough to be comfortable.
The grounds and setting are stunning.
Overall a good experience but definitely there's things need improved.

Shabby rooms, hair trimmings in coffee machine. Open drug use. We were planning on putting wedding guests up here but quite frankly would be embarrassed to do so. Broken bed, stained carpets and that was apparently a "superior room" nothing superior about it and my complaint has not been adressed. I used to be friendly with a few staff members some time back and despite them having the collective IQ of a lettuce they still managed to run this place better

I had high hopes for the hotel when we arrived - the impressive manor and charming, cosy communal areas are very atmospheric. Unfortunately the rooms let it down - they are in an annex separate from the manor itself and are small, tired and over-priced. That said the bed was comfortable and the staff nice. Set expectations accordingly.

We came here for afternoon tea for a birthday celebration.
The afternoon tea is disappointing for both of its food quality and service. The tea selection is one of the worst, only three types of tea to choose from: English Tea, Earl Grey and Pret is even better. And the tea is served in tea bag in a large pot, causing the flavour of the tea is rather weak.
The cakes were all sponge based cakes and cheap selection. Nothing impressive.
The service is appalling is equally terrible. They set us at a table where the light above keeps flashing. I asked if they could fix the light or move us to another table (at the time, the restaurant was only half full. the waiter refused and claimed the other table is for six people, while we only had 5 people. Then we had to stay at the same table with the light kept flashing for the entire time , which made me headache and utterly unpleasant.
The waiters were not friendly and inattentive. I had to ask for the tea to be refilled, they didn’t check on us throughout the whole dinning experience. When I asked if they could add one more tea bag to the tea pot, the waiter responded reluctantly saying “we always put two only but if you need one more, we could do that.”
The afternoon tea is charged £45 per person with sparkling wine. I think my local cafe is even better than this. Definitely one of the worst afternoon teas that I have had.

Special thanks to Joanna for arranging a room in the older part of the building. On previous visits, we stayed in the newer part of the hotel. My partner is so thrilled with the room and staying in the historic part of the building. He loves history and loves this part of the hotel. Thank you so much for making our stay so much more memorable.
Breakfast was lovely
Views are lovely on a clear day
Since our last stay, the dining room has had a refresh, and it's stunning.
The staff are very friendly and helpful
The Christmas decorations look fabulous too

Had a fantastic dinner in the private room at this lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was exquisite, beautifully cooked and very generous portions. We’re going to book again for Christmas next year and will definitely go back again in between.

My husband stays here regularly for work and he always has a comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to have an upgrade to the Mayfair suite last week....wow!!! What a stunning room. We had a delicious breakfast too. Thank you to Jo on reception.
