Holy Cross is part of the Team Parish of Elstree & Borehamwood. It is a small, community-based church where adults and children of all ages will find a warm welcome. We are an inclusive congregation, friendly and welcoming of newcomers. Our worship is centred around Family Communion with vestments, servers and member participation, especially in Bible reading and singing - hymns and songs traditional and modern. Children are admitted to communion from age 7. Confirmation is offered from age 12. We are a congregation of about 50 adults and children at 9.30am each Sunday. We use Common Worship Order One. Junior Church meets in the hall every Sunday in term time for activities and Bible stories.
Completed in 1955 our church seats 120, more if required. The most striking feature of the building is the window with its angel faces and brightly coloured wings over the altar, which is at the west end. We have a comfortable creche/meeting room and a 2 manual organ.
St Michael's was at first a conventual district, then a separate parish, then from 1979 one of the 3 district churches in the Borehamwood team, with All Saints, Shenley Road and Holy Cross, Balmoral Drive. St Nicholas, Elstree join in 2005 when we became the Parish of Elstree & Borehamwood.
The church hall is home to a number of community groups during the week and children's parties at the weekend. Parking is available at the church and in the vicinity. For hall bookings ring the churchwarden: 020 8386 5469.

St Nicholas' is a family friendly Church in the heart of Elstree village. We are easily found on the High Street - you can see our spire at the top of the hill!
