Make your decision carefully about who you hire as a surveyor based upon reviews. I've worked with numerous surveyors and professional organisations now. Talbots were very difficult to deal with, chased payment despite me paying within 2 weeks of the survey (normal payment for services is within 1 month of invoice), and declined to accept that they missed something major in my report (which is filled with generic comments) requiring me to spend nearly £3000 extra on a collapsing bay window. Very unfortunate experience.

We recently had a survey done on our proposed purchase of a house in Hampstead Garden Suburb. We were extremely happy with the service. James Cohen was very thorough, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. We really appreciated the detailed report and the care taken to make sure nothing was overlooked.

Living in garages as confirmed by Andrew cohen on his visit in October 2022. Trying to harass me despite being told no access, yet still demanding to gain access despite oral orders at hearing refusing anyone who is not impartial and only appointed directly by RICS who will confirm impartiality and to only do so after the person responsible for putting me in garages responds. Reported this man and the solicitor being fraudulent in contempt of oral orders from court to the police and will be taking further action. Avoid if you appreciate being treated as a human and not a rat and want those on the receiving end to be treated fairly.

Avoid this firm if you can. Their responses to my posts and other people’s posts on trustpilot give you an idea of how they behave when they are out of their depth.

Very pleased with Talbots Surveying Services, Andrew has been more than helpful. Very greatful to him for his time and advice throughout the process of negotiating the lease extension.
